Odie is an artist and model originally from Mongolia. Attending art schools in Prague and Paris, she eventually settled in the french capital where she has been living and working for the past ten years.
We were drawn to Odie through the diverse range of mediums and techniques she employs to create her art. A natural-born painter with a unique creative approach, she is constantly exploring new forms of expression. We are so excited to share her work with you and welcome her to our Otiumberg family.
"My happiest moments in the day are when I’m creating and working with my hands either drawing, painting, sewing or writing. I love to draw in red and blue Indian ink, on canvas or paper. - Odie"
Naturally an introvert, Odie finds expression and connection through her art which explores the human form and existence. Odie has a curiosity for traditional craftsmanship which sees her work across a vast range of mediums from embroidery to sculpture and painting.
"Even though drawing is my favourite form of expression, I also explore writing, sewing, performance and installation. Each medium allows the viewer to connect and feel in a different way"
Odie grew up with no screens or access to galleries. Her childhood in Mongolia was spent mainly surrounded by nature. Whilst living in Paris Odie tries to maintain this sense of distance and peace, surrounding herself with books, taking time to be in nature and of course, loosing herself in art as much as possible. A difficult state to achieve in a city like Paris, however, one that is clearly integral to her creative process.
"In one word, it is all about life, all things related with human experience is at the centre of my art."
