What are Birthstones?

Unlike the signs of the zodiac, birthstones represent the exact month in which you were born. There is a different gemstone to represent each month of the year.

What is the history of Birthstone jewellery?

According to historians, birthstones can be traced back to biblical times. However the birthstone as we know it is a more modern concept, originating in  the 16th century in either Germany or Poland.
