Otiumberg x Choose Love

The Otiumbegr Giving Fund: A Partnership From The Heart of Our Community.

Facing a growing refugee crisis in 2021, we decided to team up with Jess Mills, an Otiumberg customer and Director of Choose Love, to create two special pieces whose profits would be sent directly to the programmes that support displaced women and children.

As a female-lead brand, our team felt passionate that our donations support programmes that support displaced women and children who have fled in need of safety, education and a sense of community.

We thank you for your generosity in advance.

Dorine and Diana

Dorine and Diana are part of Say it Loud Club. An organisation funded by Choose Love that provides support and advocacy for LGBTQA+ refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Dorine and Diana both fled persecution from their home and found strength and support from the Choose Love community.

Jess Mills

Jess is a dear customer of ours at Otiumberg. It was through Jess in 2021 that we first heard about the increased need for funding across the Choose Love network.

Jess is a warm and caring soul who helped build Choose Love from a grass-routes organisation to the force for good that it is today.

Zarlasht Halaimzai

Zarlasht—a former refugee herself—founded the Refugee Trauma Initiative in 2016 to provide psychological aid and psychosocial support to refugees arriving in Greece who had fled conflicts abroad. Prior to founding RTI, she worked in the UK, Pakistan, Afghanistan and along the Syrian border with Turkey, helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds gain access to education.

Waad Alkateab

In 2009, 18-year-old Waad al-Kateab moved to Aleppo to study marketing at the University of Aleppo.

Waad documented her whole life over five years in Aleppo, as she fell in love with Hamza – a doctor – and gave birth to their first daughter, Sama ("Sky") in 2015. This footage became the basis of the feature documentary released in 2019, For Sama.

After fleeing Aleppo in December 2016, Waad, her husband, and their two daughters now reside in London, United Kingdom.

Rosanna & Christie Wollenbergs

The Otiumberg sisters founded the Otiumberg Giving Fund in 2022.

Although without external investment, the sisters have been determined to lay the foundation of charitable giving as the brand grows.

Hearing first hand from Jess Mills the impact of Choose Love on displaced women and children, they knew it was the right cause to support.
